Sculptured Earth is owned and operated by Patrick Burke. Patrick has had a passion for stone and design since he was a child, when he would help his father build stonewalls. This passion led him to begin his formal masonry and landscape apprenticeship at the age of sixteen.

Patrick worked for several masonry and landscape companies until receiving his undergraduate degree in English Literature from Saint Anselm College. At Saint Anselm, Patrick was most interested in the philosophy of fine art and beauty. This study facilitated Patrick's understanding of what it is that makes something beautiful. This has been helpful in all aspects of design and construction.

Patrick's love for stone brought him to many of Europe's monuments of enduring stonework. From directed studies of ancient Minoan cities to informal studies of Gaudi's Park Guell in Barcelona, if it is made of stone and earth Patrick is fascinated.

After returning to his former high school to teach English for four years following college, Patrick now devotes all of his professional energy into Sculptured Earth.
